FAQ
Do I need to bring anything with me?
No, everything will be provided for you including aprons and refreshments. While we have containers to package up any food you make, we like to promote reusable containers. Therefore please feel free to bring your own as you will have plenty of goodies to take home.
What should I wear?
Most of the course will be spent on your feet so it’s essential to wear comfortable footwear (no open toe shoes please). Just wear comfortable clothing and depending on what we are teaching the kitchen can get hot so preferable wear layers in case you get hot.
Do I need to be a good cook?
Our courses are categorised as beginner, intermediate and advanced. Beginner level is for students new to cooking or who lack confidence in the kitchen. Intermediate is aimed at the confident home cook who probably cooks home dinners each day. Advanced is aimed at the home foodie with cooking as a keen interest and possibly wants to start a business or become a chef. If you are unsure of whether a course is suitable, please feel free to get in touch and we can help you choose.
Will the course cater for my allergies?
Each course on our website shows the major allergens it contains. Unfortunately we cannot provide an alternative unless arranged prior to the course running. If you have an allergen not listed on the course, please get in touch with our team prior to making a booking to discuss your requirements.
Can I book someone on a course who is under 18?
Due to insurances and our risk assessments we can only accept under 18’s if they are accompanied by an adult who can also take full responsibility for them during the course. We will require you to complete a disclaimer form prior to the course. Anyone under 18 will still be charged the full amount for the course.
Do you offer accommodation?
We are lucky to be situated within the The Retreat. A selection of luxury or budget rooms are available to book via the retreat website.
Is there parking nearby?
When arriving by car park in the overflow carpark. From here you can walk straight across the carpark and into the school.
